General Description
The HOBBY-FLAME is the baby of the MICROFLAME family of gas generators.  It has been designed to meet the needs of the hobbyist, who requires only intermittent use, as distinguished from continuous production requirements.  The HOBBY-FLAME is therefore capable of operating continuously for 45 minutes in every 2 hours.  However the HOBBY-FLAME is built to the same high standards as the other MICROFLAME machines and complies with all EEC safety and quality standards.
  The machine produces an Oxygen/Hydrogen gas, the characteristics of which can then be altered by passing it through a Booster unit.  The Booster unit is filled with a solution e.g. Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone which changes the calorific value and temperature of the gas flame to suit your particular application.

The flame size is also easily adjusted through a range of simply fitting torch tips.

The machine is portable and completely self contained, there are NO gas bottles required in its operation neither is gas stored in the machine thus making it very safe to use.  Using Electrolysis of water gas is produced only when required.  The machine requires an electrical supply, distilled water and the solution used in the Booster unit.  

Gas Booster
The Gas Booster Unit has a dual function.  Firstly, it provides the facility to change the flame characteristics (as previously described).  Secondly, providing the solution level in the Booster is maintained above the specified minimum level; then it also acts as a safety trap in the unlikely event of a blow-back situation occurring, thus preventing damage to the machine.

A variety of solutions can be used in the Gas Booster as indicated in the chart below.  For soldering applications Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone is the most common.  Please click here for the Temperature Chart

Accessories
The HOBBY-FLAME machine is supplied ready for use, except for the distilled water and Gas Booster solution.
